The Institute for Gross National Happiness Studies (iGNHaS), in partnership with UNDP Bhutan will be organizing a workshop for ‘Strengthening Support to Analysis and Research (S-STAR)’, on 6-7 December at the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) in Thimphu.
The S-STAR is aimed to enhance analysis and research capacity of young and beginning Parliamentarians with particular focus on evidence based decision making.
The objectives of the workshop are to enable young and beginning parliamentarians opportunities to look at ‘best practices’ in other countries; to support strengthening of democracy and accountability; enhance critical thinking, innovation and informed decision making skills; strengthen research and knowledge Management skills; and to strengthen Public Policy Analysis.
About the iGNHaS:
The iGNHaS is an independent think tank under the RUB and aims to engage with the government, civil society, and institutes for research and policy advocacy on key areas of research conducted on Bhutan. Its goals include being a centre of excellence in analyses of development policy issues, being a source of technical expertise and policy advice for the wider region outside of Bhutan, and being a point of reference on national policy issues to the public by providing an independent and authoritative voice.
